Say where reviews

Say Who lets you make calls by speaking any contact name or phone number. No need for system training or recording voice samples. Speak any NAME in your contact list, first name or last name or both. You can also say business names listed as contacts. Try it for nicknames you've created for contacts, too. Yes, you can even say phone numbers! For example, you can say "Bridgett at home" – "Call United Airlines" – "Dial 5-4-5-8-6-2-2".

Say where reviews

Say Where is the first iPhone application for voice-entry to popular websites for mapping, business search, and reviews. Instead of typing, just speak any "place" – any address, business, or point of interest. Then, choose the mobile site to launch, such as Google Maps, Yelp, Yellow Pages, and more. Just speak into your iPhone and say any place: like "524 Broadway" -- "Delfina Pizzeria" -- "Golden Gate Bridge" or "dog parks". Looking for a store location? Say Where - to Google Maps! Deciding on a restaurant? Say Where - to Yelp!

How do I get it?

Say Where and Say Who are available on iTunes Apple App Store.

Do I need a Say Where account?

Not at all! Once you download Say Where and Say Who, you can begin using them immediately.

Is Say Where available outside of the US?

'Say Where' supports US-based locations only. 'Say Who' is available in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK and US. We're happy to provide you an update as availability expands.

How do I use the iPhone microphone ?

Speak directly into your iPhone by placing your iPhone microphone (located near the bottom of your iPhone around the Home/Menu button) about 3 inches from your mouth. To start recording, press the blue box area labeled "Press while speaking". Be sure to keep your finger pressed to the screen while you speak your location. When finished speaking, you can then stop pressing the blue box area.

Do Say Where and Say Who support Bluetooth?

Yes and no... The good news is that you can use your Bluetooth headset (or speakerphone) to carry on a call once it has been launched by Say Who.  Unfortunately, since Apple currently has programmatic limitations on Bluetooth device control, we are not able to program Say Who so that you can actually initiate the call with a Bluetooth headset -- you need to initiate the call with the iPhone touch screen and microphone, and then your Bluetooth headset (or speakerphone) should be active once the call is dialed.   We're hopeful that Apple will soon open its development tools to let us provide full Bluetooth support for easier hands-free dialing and application usage.

Why do I need network connectivity?

To achieve best accuracy, the voice-entry applications use powerful speech recognition technology that requires more processing power than the phone can handle. As such, we do use the network to send over what you said and perform the recognition on our servers. For Say Who, we only use the names in your contacts to compare your recording to, and no other data is utilized.

Does the type of network connectivity matter?

Say Who uses the network (whether Edge, 3G, or WiFi) to leverage our powerful speech recognition technology. Typically, Say Who performance is fast, but it can be slowed down by a weak network connection (e.g. a poor Edge connection).  We are continually improving our technology to work better independently of network connection strength.

Do you sell my personal information?

We do not collect personal information (and as such, definitely do not rent, sell, or share your information). For a complete policy on privacy with Dial Directions, please click click here.

What special prefix dialing is supported in Say Who?

When it comes to dialing special characters, we are unfortunately limited by the iPhone operating system. The OS enables applications to dial "+" (for international dialing) only, but prevents us from dialing any other special characters (e.g. "," or "#" or "*"). We have submitted an enhancement request to Apple, and will incorporate support for these once the iPhone OS has been updated.
